Inspection Copy Accessibility Statement

At Inspection Copy we are dedicated to ensuring our platform is accessible and welcoming to all, including people with disabilities. Our commitment to accessibility reflects our belief that everyone should have equal access to the knowledge and resources available on our platform.

Our goal is to adhere to the European Accessibility Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, established by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines are designed to improve the accessibility of web content across a range of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones, enhancing the usability of Inspection Copy content for all users.

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure accessibility for all users, we actively monitor and stay informed about any changes or updates to accessibility regulations. We are working on aligning all elements of the user experience with the latest standards.

Accessibility Features

  • Keyboard accessibility: Core navigation and key actions are operable using a keyboard (tab navigation, focus indicators and keyboard shortcuts where appropriate).
  • Screen reader compatibility: The platform is designed to work with screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) with labelled form fields, headings, and ARIA-friendly components where applicable.
  • Visual design: Sufficient colour contrast for text and interactive elements; scalable text support and responsive layout for different screen sizes.
  • Images: Alt text on meaningful images.
  • Forms and interactions: Labelled form fields, clearly associated labels with inputs, and accessible error messages and guidance.
  • Help and navigation: Clear headings, consistent navigation, and a straightforward information architecture to locate inspection copies, status and supporting materials.
  • Accessibility fallbacks: If a publisher-provided resource or a particular widget isn’t accessible in a given scenario, we offer alternative means to access the information.

Known limitations and planned improvements

  • Content and third-party tools: Some content supplied by third-party tools may not be fully accessible yet. We are working with providers to improve accessibility and, when needed, offer alternative access methods.
  • Dynamic content: Some content loaded dynamically (AJAX, modals, pop-ups) may not be fully announced by assistive technologies in all cases. We are updating components to ensure better ARIA labeling and announcements.
  • PDF accessibility: We are developing processes to provide accessible equivalents when a PDF does not meet accessibility standards.
